Falls every year in the month of Rabi ul Awal as per the Islamic calendar. Date is determined by the sighting of the moon.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated on 28 September 2023 in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka.  Saudi Arabia will observe it on 27 September 2023

Historical Origins

Celebrations date back to the early Rashidun Caliphs and were started by the Fatimids. Prophet Muhammad's birth believed to be on the twelfth day of Rabi' al-awwal in 570 CE.
